Over 75 descendants of Oscar F. Jesperson gathered in Cedar City, Utah, July 15-19. Nestled in the majesty of a nearby canyon, a mountain lodge provided a beautiful setting for many activities including hiking, games, and the inaugural Jesperson Family Olympics. For deeds well done, children were able to earn "Jesperson Bucks" which they could spend at the family store. A wide diversity of abilities were on display during Wednesday's talent show.
Back in town, at the Crystal Inn Conference Centre, Ted Pyper premiered his short film featuring Oscar's posterity and Scandinavian ancestors. In addition to enjoying one another's company, family members were able to choose from the many theatrical productions available that week in Cedar City. A big thanks to the organizing committee--Jen Dille, Shannon Rivington and Malia Allsop. Katie Gipson has already begun planning the 2010 reunion.
